Fanciest apron I will ever own
I had some fabric in my upholstery scraps that I love, but didn’t know what to do with it. I found a linen pinafore apron pattern and decided to make a patchwork version, when I pulled out this fabric. Putting two pieces together, I had about the right dimensions to pull it off.
I will make a patchwork version as well, but for now…
The embroidered upholstery fabric swatches. LOVE THEM SO MUCH.
I cut the greyish fabric in half and sewed it on both sides of the greenish fabric using my idustrial pfaff walking foot.
I top-stiched the seams and ended up with a panel about 46” by 29”.
I doubled the edges and the top over and sewed the seams. The bottoms were already finished.
I cut the straps at 21” by 8”. I folded them over right sides together, sewed down the long side, then turned them right side out.
The next time I make this I will cut 21” by 5” as these came out a little wider than I like.
I folded the unfinished edge into the middle about 1/2” and sewed over that to add the straps to the main panel. I sewed the back on first, found the middle front and pinned the straps when I found the spot I liked.

There you have it, fanciest apron I will ever own. It called for pockets too, but I didn’t put them on this version. I will definitely put them on the next one.
