And so I begin again (studio 1)
Has anyone else rearranged your sewing space 2700 times? Just me? As my life seasons and jobs have changed my sewing space has evolved with me. I used to sew at the kitchen table. Now I have a dedicated separate space (mostly) just for me.
Last year I stopped working as a production sewer for Oveja Negra and have started making my own products. It is slow going as a global pandemic means that my child is home more and my teacher husband has an ever changing course load to figure out.
I was very well set up for my production sewing, but now that I want to make different products and incorporate even more machines - you can never have too many machines - I need things to be more accessible.
My studio is heated solely by a wood stove. A few months ago, I decided to order a pellet stove that will take up less space and work more like a heater. Once I decided that I realized that then I could re-arrange everything in my studio to suit my new business. After my head landed back on my shoulders, my first thought was, don’t tell the husband. I am a bit of a dreamer which often leads to lots of work for him helping me make it happen. Thankfully, I did tell him and he was on board with making the space what I want.
So, before pictures. It is a hot mess because I have started packing everything up to prepare for re-arranging.
